Carolyn Yvonne Cowell, 74, of Harrison, passed awayTuesday, Jan. 6, 2004 at her residence. Mrs. Cowell wasborn May 8,1929 in Wheeler, the daughter of Archie andLena (Coleman) Hoard. Carolyn was united in marriage to David Cowell on Oct. 13, 1952 in Harrison. Mr. Cowellpreceded Carolyn in death on Feb. 1, 1982. Carolyn has resided in Harrison most of her life. She enjoyed reading, fishing, camping, gardening and spendingtime with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are one daughter: Susan Bonner of Harrison; Six sons: Dennis (Nancy) Mills of KingSalmon, Alaska, David Cowell Jr. of Harrison, Scott Cowell of Harrison, Michael Cowell of Coleman, Christopher Cowell and John Cowell, both of Harrison; Three brothers: Larry Hoard (Kay) of Lansing, Jerry Hoard and fiancee, Janet of Lansing, and Sirwell (Dorothy) Hoard of Herman, Missouri; Three sisters: Mrs. Lillian Leposky and husband John of Harrison, Mrs. Norma Sharp of Harrison and Mrs. Sheryle (Donald) Hensley of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Sister-in-law Ann Hoard of Lansing; 22 grandchildren, 21Great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cowell was also preceded in death by her father and mother, Archie and Lena Hoard; Two sons: Tommy in 1947 and Nicholas Cowell in 1975; One brother, Roger Hoard on May 1, 1996; One sister, Marlene Hoard in 1940; One granddaughter, Teri Lea Rolfe on July 4, 1976; and one Great-grandson; Dakota Erskine on Dec. 30, 2000. Funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 9, 2004 at 2 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Pastor Harold Gregg officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison. Arrangements were entrusted with Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison.

Obituary for Scott Cowell SCOTT DOUGLAS COWELL DECEMBER 26, 1954 - JUNE 16, 2011 Scott Douglas Cowell 56 of Harrison passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Mid Michigan Medical Center-Clare. Scott was born December 26, 1954 in Roscommon County, Michigan, the son of David Ray and Carolyn Yvonne (Hoard) Cowell. Mr. Cowell has resided in Harrison for over forty years after moving from North Carolina. He worked in the construction field for over thirty-eight years and was a logger. Scott enjoyed puzzle solving, woodworking, hunting, gardening, canning, hosting barbeque parties and was an avid fisherman. . Surviving Mr. Cowell is his life partner, Gloria L. Woodward of Harrison, three daughters: Amanda Beaube of Florida, Danelle Oulette of Florida and Melissa Cowell of Beaverton, Michigan, two sons: Scott Cowell, Jr. and Kelly Beall of Michigan and Timothy Cowell and companion, Amanada Finney of Beaverton, four step daughters: Nicole Sny and husband Dave of Rockford, Michigan, Jennifer Meyers of Florida, Melinda Hayes and husband Tim of Hillman, Michigan and Anna Hatcher and husband Ian of Grand Ledge, Michigan, one sister, Susan Bonner of Harrison, five brothers: Dennis and Nancy Mills of King Salmon, Alaska, David Cowell, Jr. of Harrison, Michael Cowell of Coleman, Michigan, Christopher Cowell of Harrison and John Cowell and fianc Shannon Marsh of Harrison, twenty four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Cowell was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Nicholas Cowell and Tommy Ecklin, his twin grandsons and one niece, Teri Lea Rolfe.
