    Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lee Hoard were honored Friday on their 65th wedding anniversary at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Walker, Bemus Point.
    The affair, hosted by their five children, was attended by 150 guests and held on the spacious lawns of the Walker home. The table was decorated with pink and white flowers and a three-tier wedding cake. Mrs. Samuel Bauda poured. Mrs. Carroll Trimm had charge of the guest book and Mrs. Fern Nelson served the cake. Aides were the great-grandchildren of the couple, Miss Cheryl Bentley, Miss Vaughn Johnson and Miss Sharon Bauda, Michelle Johnson and Mrs. Roderick Walker.
    Mrs. Hoard the former Myrmel Clark, and Mr. Hoard were married Aug. 30, 1898 by the Rev. Walter Sleer at the home of Mrs. Hoard's aunt, Mrs. Nelson Waggoner of Jamestown.
    The couple have resided in their present home in North Main Street Extension for 60 years. Mr. Hoard is a retired farmer.
    Their five children are Mrs. John M. Walker, Laurence Hoard, Mrs. Carroll Trimm, Mrs. Samuel Bauda and Melville Hoard, all of Jamestown. There are 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
    Out of town guests were present from Geneva, Ohio, Warren, Pa. and St. Petersburg, Pa.

    Obituary:
    A. (Albert) Lee Hoard, 86, well known area farmer, died at his home on N. Main Street Ext. R.D. 2, Jamestown, at 10 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 10, 1965).
    Mr. Hoard owned and operated a large dairy farm on N. Main Street Ext., for many years and also owned and operated a creamery and milk route in the vicinity of his home and in Jamestown for some time.
    He owned the Curve In gasoline service station on N. Main Street, currently operated by his son, Melville Hoard.
    In his younger days, Mr. Hoard was an enthusiastic horseman and was known for his beautiful carriage horses.
    He and his wife, the former Myrmell V. Clark, were married in Jamestown, Aug. 30, 1898. They marked their 67th wedding anniversary this summer. For many years, the couple spent the winter months in St. Petersburg, Fla.
    Mr. Hoard, highly respected by a large circle of friends and acknowledged as a good neighbor and fine gentleman, was a member of the Chautauqua County Union Grange, 244, and the Dairymen's League.
    He was born in Randolph, Aug. 18, 1879, to Jesse N. and Iona Whitemore Hoard. He had lived on N. Main Street Ext., for the past 60 years.
    Besides his wife, mr. Hoard is survived by three daughters, Mrs. John Walker, Bemus Point, Mrs. Carroll Trimm and Mrs. Samuel Bauda, both of Jamestown; two sons, Lawrence N. Hoard and Melville L. Hoard, both of Jamestown; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granchilld, and several nieces and nephews.
    A sister and three brothers preceded him in death.
    Services will be held at Powers Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Alvin G. Ross, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery.

    Lawrence M. Hoard, Sr., 88, of 23 W. Third Street, Jamestown, NY, formerly of 173 Bowen Street, Jamestown, died at 12:05 p.m. Friday (August 19, 1988) in Jamestown General Hospital. A lifelong area resident, he was born April 17, 1900 in Ellery Center.
    Surviving are his wife, the former, Norma A. Sundean, whom he married October 28, 1933; a son, Lawrence M. Hoard, Jr. of Westfield, Pa.; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters; Elora Walker of Bemus Point, and LaQueen Trimm of Jamestown.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Melville L. Hoard, Sr. , who died October 23, 1981; and a sister, Fern R. Bauda, who died March 6, 1981.
    Burial will be in the Fluvanna Cemetery.

    Obituary:
    Melville L. HOARD Sr., 77 of N. Main St. Ext., Jamestown, NY, died 10:20 PM Friday, (Oct. 23, 1981) in WCA Hospital. He was owner of Kurve Inn & Mel's Texaco Service at the N. Main St. address, retiring in 1969. HOARD was born in Jamestown June 20, 1904, a son of Albert LEE & Myrmel KLARK HOARD. He was a graduate of Jamestown Business College. HOARD attended the Free Methodist Church of Gerry & was a member of AARP. He was an avid hunter, fisherman & golfer. He & his wife, the former Francella SMITH, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary Feb. 19, 1981. Surviving are his wife; a son, Melville L HOARD Jr. of Muskegon, Mich,; 2 granddaughters: Melinda J. HOARD & Alicia S. HOARD, both at home; 2 sisters: Elora WALKER of Chedwell & LaQueen TRIMM of Cutis St. Ext. & a brother, Lawrence HOARD Sr. of Covenant Manor. He was proceded in death by his parents; a sister, Fern R. BAUDA on March 6, 1981, & a daughter, Melba HOARD in 1940. The funeral was held 1:30 PM today in Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Harold E. McNutt, pastor of Free Methodist Church, Gerry, officiated. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery.

    Melville married Francelia Edith Smith on 19 Feb 1927 in Jamestown, Chautauqua Co, New York, USA. Francelia (daughter of Lee Wilson Smith and Mabel Palmeter) was born on 17 Aug 1905 in Jamestown, Chautauqua Co, New York, USA; died on 1 Oct 1999; was buried in Jamestown, Chautauqua Co, New York, USA (Lake View Cemetery).
