    HOARD, Ray D. Age 96 Of Kalamazoo Died Monday afternoon, June 13, 2011 at the Borgess Medical Center. He was born in Kalamazoo on January 6, 1915. Ray enjoyed gardening, raising rabbits, and bowling. Ray married Anna E. Coffman; she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Norma Sosinski and his son, Ronald Hoard. Ray is survived by his five grandchildren, Cheryl (Butch) Miller of Kalamazoo, Tracy (Tom) Snyder of Byron Center, Jennifer (Mike) Powell of New York, Steven (Nicole) Hoard of New York and Diane (Michael) Robbins of Delton; seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. At the request of the family, cremation has taken place and no services are being planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to charity of your choice.     Kalamazoo Gazette (MI) - July 24, 2008
    HOARD, Dayton Of Phoenix, AZ, Formerly of Paw Paw, Passed away peacefully on July 20, 2008. Dayton was born June 1, 1919 in Kalamazoo, MI. He and his wife, Frances, moved to California in 1956 where they built a successful furniture business. They returned to Michigan in 1977 and settled in Paw Paw, where they ran the Red Arrow Trading Post, retiring to Phoenix, Arizona in 2006. Dayton is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Frances (Curtis) Hoard; three children, Bonnie Lou Leale of Buckeye, AZ, Bill Hoard of Martin, MI and Beverly Lynn Burke of Scottsdale, AZ; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Lee Morris. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Friday, July 25, 2008 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan. Friends and family are invited. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.

    HOARD, Mr. Charles "Chuck" Wyoming, MI (Formerly of Kalamazoo) Died Friday evening March 9, 2012 at his residence. Charles was born May 13, 1920 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Harry and Myrtle (Gilbert) Hoard. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the James River Corporation for 35 years, retiring in 1982. Charles was also a member of the Lighthouse Community Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy "June" (Vette) Hoard in May 1997; a granddaughter, Jodie Cutler in August of 1992; a great-granddaughter, Devon Mae Boelema; a great-grandson, Derick Bonga; 4 brothers, Thomas, Glenn "Bob", Dayton, and Jack Hoard; and 2 sisters, Betty Coffman and Anna Rich. Charles is survived by a son, David (Viola) Eaton of Byron Center, MI; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Hoard of Galesburg; special friend, Fahad Ilahi of Byron Center, MI; special nephew, Theo (Judy) Metzger of Richland; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Wednesday at the Lighthouse Community Church, 4321 S. 11th St. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorials may be directed to the Lighthouse Community Church Building Fund.

    SOSINSKI, Norma L. (Hoard) Of Saginaw, MI Formerly of Kalamazoo, MI Passed away on Friday June 9, 2006 at the age of 70. Norma was born February 11, 1936 in Kalamazoo to Ray D. and Anna Elizabeth (Coffman) Hoard. She married Richard Dale Sosinski June 22, 1957. He preceded her in death in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Anna and brother, Ron. Surviving are her father, Ray D. Hoard; three daughters, Cheryl (Butch) Brugh of Kalamazoo, Diane (Michael) Robbins of Plainwell, Tracy (Tom) Snyder of Saginaw; seven grandchildren, Bryan, Lyndsay, Melissa, Sarah, Brandon, Zachary and Hannah; 2 great grandchildren, Leah and Trynity. In accordance to Norma's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held in the Chapel at Mt. Ever- Rest Cemetery in Kalamazoo, Thursday June 15, 2006 from 1:00-3:00.     Of Kalamazoo
    Dan was born November 6th, 1956 to Herman and Devona (Burgard) Hoard in Paw Paw, Michigan. He was their first born. He was called to serve the Lord on Saturday, September 12th, 2009. Dan grew up lived most of his life Kalamazoo. He graduated in 1974 from Dawntreader Alternative Highschool. He served a short time in the military and was honorably discharged. Dan married Mary Downes in 1980 and had their son Daniel Kenneth. Their marriage ended but Dan never let that interfere with the relationship with his son. Daniel has a daughter, Amber, who was adored by her Papa. Dan was an avid hunter, loved Louie L'mar Westerns, and was a content loner always looking for the next adventure. In 1995 he married Cheryl Koerts and together they welcomed Gabrielle Rose into the world. Dan had a great love for nature, dogs, computers, and adventures. He was a truck driver by trade. He loved his Harley and loved to ride. But, there was nothing that compared to his dedication to his son, daughter, and service to the Lord. Dan was a devoted member of the Kalamazoo First Assembly of God Church. Diagnosed with kidney cancer his initial response was concern for his daughter and yet eager to serve the Lord in whatever came his way. His faith never waivered... Surviving are his son Daniel, his daughter Gabrielle, and his grand daughter Amber. Also surviving are his brother Greg, two sisters Debbie and Brenda, three half sisters Sherry, Laura and Carrie, his grandmother Mary Bruystens, three nieces, a nephew, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Contributions can be made to the Dream Center, 1122 Portage Rd., Kalamazoo, MI, 49001, in honor of Dan, where he volunteered regularly. One Tin Soldier rides away...with our Lord by his side.
