Viola Trewyn (nee Hatch)
Obituary:
Viola Trewyn (nee Hatch) of Hartford, formerly of DePere, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003 at the Hartford Care Center. She was 91 years old.
She was born on June 7, 1912 in Baraboo to Monroe and Frances (nee Horr) Hatch. Viola married Ben Trewyn on Aug. 24, 1935 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Bayview. She was a member of St. Ann's Episcopal Church in DePere. She loved to sew and was a member of a sewing club.
She is survived by her son, Steven (Susan) Trewyn of Hartford; daughter-in-law Leslie Trewyn of Green Lake; five grandchildren, Lisa (John) Grosz of Waupun, Andrew (Becky) Trewyn of Waupun, Evan (Cheryl) Trewyn of St. Louis Park, Minn., Brian Trewyn of Ames, Iowa, and Signe Trewyn of LaCrosse; two great-grandchildren, Eva Grosz and Timothy Trewyn; and niece Patricia Jones of Milwaukee. Viola is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben in 1985; son Timothy; brother Harold Hatch; and sister Jane Harding.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church, Hartford with Fr. Mike Tess officiating. Family greeted relatives and friends on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
Interment Greenwood Cemetery, DePere.
