      Obituary:
      FARMINGTON - Abbie Ellen Hoar, 96, died on Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at the Sandy River Center for Health Care in Farmington, where she had resided for the past five years. She was born on Dec. 2, 1915, in Harpswell, the daughter of Frank and Carrie White Marden. She was educated in the schools of Phillips and Madrid. She married Kenneth Hoar in 1934 in Phillips, and he died on April 20, 1990. In 1934, she moved from Rangeley to Farmington. She was a homemaker and loved rocking the babies. She enjoyed knitting, reading and camping. She was a member of the Madrid Grange.
      She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Stevens, and husband Leo of Temple; her son, William Hoar, of Skowhegan; her sister-in-law, June Tomlins, of Farmington; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

      Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Farmington in the spring. (Morning Sentinel 3/3/2012)
