      REEDSVILLE - Samuel Nelson Hoar Jr., 66, died 11:18 pm Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Life Care Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
      Born on July 21, 1945, in Lewistown, he was the son of Samuel N. Hoar Sr. and Anna E. (Bulick) Hoar.
      He is survived by: his wife, Gloria J. (Goodling) Hoar, whom he married on Aug. 5, 2000; children, Sherrie Marsh and husband, Robert, of McVeytown; step children Shelly Bulick and wife, Sandra, of Lancaster, and Melissa Auman and husband, Charles Jr., of Reedsville; brothers and sisters, Gary W. Hoar, of Lewistown, Judy McAlister, of Port Royal, Shelby Wolfley, of Center Hall, Jeffrey Hoar, of McClure, Stephen Hoar, of Lewistown, and Keith Hoar, of Burnham; grandchildren Jonathan and Jessica Marsh; and step grandchildren, Tiffany Shank and Heather and Crystal Auman.
      Samuel was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph W. Hoar Sr.
      He was a taxi driver, had been a truck driver for Krentzmans and had worked at Fisher Electronics.
      He served in the job corps in Texas for three years.
      The service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 26, at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with Pastor Thomas Morningstar officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour before the service. Interment will be private.
