      Elizabeth Dugdale was born in Devonshire, England, February 2, 1827. Was married to Wm. Hoar July 17, 1846 to this union there was born ten children, six of whom survive her, the children are: Mrs Louisa Mander and Wm Hoar, both of Walt Hill, Nebraska: Mrs Emily Drummond of Lyons, Nebraska; Charley Hoar of Onawa, Iowa; Ed Hoar of Pender, Nebraska and George Hoar of Columbus, Nebraska all of which were present at her funeral. She died July 26, 1910 about 1 p.m. at the home of her son, Charley, where she has stayed since the death of her aged husband March 31st of the present year. She united with the Episcopal church when a child and remained a firm believer in that church until her death. The funeral was held at the home of her son July 27th conducted by Rev Edwards of the ME Church. She came to America in 1848, stayed in New Jersey a short time, then came to Illinois and afterwards to Iowa, living for a time in Union county then coming to Monona County in 1880. They lived about 25 years in Mapleton, but have lived in the southern part of Onawa the last two years. She has a sister and brother still in England and a brother in Illinois.
