      Obituary:
      Mrs. Dorothy Theresa Colbert
      October 14, 1930 - December 28, 2005

Dorothy a resident of Concord, Massachusetts since 1957, died suddenly,
but peacefully in her sleep at home on Wednesday, December 28, 2005. She
had been in good health and spirits having had a Christmas Eve party at
her home. Her immediate family and all her grandchildren had surprised
and celebrated with her on the occasion of her 75th birthday on October
      14th of this year.

Dot met her husband, Edward, in Somerville, Massachusetts while she was
working as a teller at the Somerville National Bank. She was a 1948
graduate of Somerville High School where she was a member of the
National Honor Society. Their close friends from high school have
continued to support them through 52 years of marriage.

Dorothy is survived by her husband and five sons, Michael of Durban,
France, Stephen and his wife Bethany of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Edward
and his wife Deborah of Topsfield, John of Norwood, and Joseph and his
wife Jean of Carlisle. Grandma Dot dearly loved each of her eleven
grandchildren Andrew, Stephanie, Michaela, Tate, Matthew, Kelsey, Keith,
      Kimberly, Michael, Jennifer, and James.

Dot was born at home of loving parents Mary Lysaght Hoar and Patrick
Hoar, in Haverhill. Her parents had immigrated from Counties Clare and
      Kerry in Ireland.

Dot the youngest of six is survived by two sisters, Marion Gavin of
Hingham and Patricia Williams of Arlington. She was sister to the late
John Hoar of Arlington, Francis Hoar of Hingham, and Elizabeth Hoar of
Arlington. Also survived by a close family of many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy's love was to be a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Over
the 48 years in Concord she was active in St. Bernard's parish, their
Circle of Friends, a hostess at the Old Manse, the Emerson Auxiliary,
and the West Concord Women's Club.

Dorothy has left all of us with an empty space to be filled by her
memories, her smile, her laugh, and her love.

Those who wish may make a contribution in her memory to Minuteman Arc
