      Deceased Name: Bertha Hoard
      Bertha Mae Modert Hoard, 86, of Bedford, Ky., died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at Tri-County Baptist Hospital in La Grange, Ky.
      She was born June 10, 1915, in Bronson, Mich., the daughter of Louis B. and Bertha J. Betz Modert. She was a retired cook for the Bronson Community Schools. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pendleton, Ky.
      Surviving are one son, Wayne Hoard of Campbellsburg, Ky.; two stepsons, Dale and Philip Hoard, both of Bronson; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
      She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair Hoard, her parents, five brothers and five sisters.
      Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton, Ky., with burial in the English Cemetery in Carrollton.
