Born Oct. 6, 1906, in Oregon, son of George and Ellen Hoar Colson. Married Elizabeth Tuitman in Oregon, Jan. 22, 1936. Employed at E.D. Etnyre Co. for 37 years; retired in 1972. Member St. Paul Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, Oregon; one son, Donald Colson, Rockford; three daughters, Marilyn (Allen) Wildman, Tampico, Helen (Donald) Heller, Canton, and Carol (Thomas) Hubbard, Chandler, Ariz; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one daughter, Alix; three brothers; and three sisters. Services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, in St. Paul Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Frank Lay, pastor, officiating.
