  [[ Obituary: Venice Gondolier Sun (FL) - August 3, 2010 Deceased Name: Robert B. Baker 83, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Life Care Center of Punta Gorda following a lengthy illness. He was born Feb. 12, 1927 to Thornton and Dorothy (nee Hoar) Baker in North Weymouth, Mass. Robert traveled with The King Reed Shows, until marrying Dorothy Watson in October 1954. He worked for two local oil companies before they bought and operated a local Hamburger Haven, "The Breezeway." Robert was a member of the Punta Gorda Masonic Lodge 115 and Peace River Chapter 30 of the Order of Eastern Star in Arcadia, Fla. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Gary (Diane) Baker of Lake Worth, Fla., and Kenneth (Dawn) Baker of Port Charlotte; a grandson; several in-laws; and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010 by the Masons of Lodge 115 in the Chapel of Kays, Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. In lieu of flowers, send up a prayer. Arrangements are by Kays, Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, Punta Gorda Chapel.
