      Auto Crash is Fatal To Veteran
      Charles F. Ward, 22,
      of Kennebunk, Dies
      Saco, March 23 [1947] - Charles F. Ward, 22, Kennebunk Navy Veteran, died in a Saco hospital this morning as a result of injuries suffered when the car he was driving overturned and struck a pole on Route 9, Kennebunk, Saturday evening. State Patrolman George Eldridge of the Wells Barracks, who investigated the accident, said it occurred about 11:15 PM Saturday, in the Lower Village. Born in Portland, Ward was the son of Chester and the late Georgianna Horr Ward, and resided formerly at Falmouth Foreside for six years. Surviving, besides his father are three sisters, Mrs. Mary Towne and Mrs. Lois Higgins, both of Kennebunkport, and Mrs. Elizabeth Robinson, Dennysville; and a brother, Lawrence Ward, Portland. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Tuesday in the Bibber Funeral Home, Kennebunkport. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kennebunk Landing.
