Helen was born in Eastman, Georgia and moved to South Miami in 1938 with her husband. She was pre- deceased by her husband, Beauford, son, Buck and daughter, Cherry Nord. She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Metts (Tom), Linda Hews and Deborah Higginbotham (David Horr); grandchildren, Linda Stine, Jennifer Stine, John Nord (Patricia), Jim Nord (Maria), Jodi Neal (Brad) and Stacey Frank and great grandchildren, Violet Manni, Gavin and Treavor Neal and James, Julia, Savannah and Sophia Nord. Helen displayed a unique combination of simple dignity, "down home" wit and in her later years, a great tenacity for life. Helen positively impacted the lives of many, including her step- grandchildren, Amy and Michael Horr. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 12th from 10-11 AM with a ceremony beginning at 11 AM at Stanfill Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Miami Memorial Park.
