McDONOUGH Funeral services for Mrs. Esther (Hoar) McDonough, wife of District Chief John F. McDonough of the Boston fire department, who died suddenly at her home, 122 Montclair Avenue, West Roxbury, Friday, will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock at the Holy Name Church, West Roxbury. Mrs. McDonough was a native of the North end of Boston, later moving to Charlestown, where she resided for 30 years before going to West Roxbury. She belonged to a number of organizations, including the Massachusetts Order of Foresters, and was active in several societies connected with the Holy Name Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Misses Margaret and Mary McDonough. [Boston Herald, Sunday, July 29, 1934]
