      21st year, Number 18 (Newspaper incorrectly says "17" on two subsequent editions, this one being the second. The following edition is labeled "19". So, I believe this should be 18, even though the masthead says "17".)

      Death of an Aged Citizen.
      A long time resident of this vicinity, Mrs. Ellen Hoar, residing two miles east of Oregon, died Friday morning, April 28 at the close of a brief illness, though she had been breaking down for some time under the weight of nearly eighty years. The deceased was twice married and is survived by two sons, John Connors of this city and P.F. Hoar on the farm and with whom this mother has made her home for many years. Also two daughters, Mrs. George Colson of this city and Miss Kate Connors who has remained with her mother at the old home. The funeral service was conducted from St. Mary's Church, of which the deceased was a devout member, at ten o'clock Monday morning, the service being conducted by a cousin of the deceased, the Rev. S. P. O'Mahoney, C.S.V., president of St. Vieteur's College, Kankakee, Ill., assisted by the regular pastor of the church, Rev. Fr. Burns. Internment was make [sic] in the Catholic cemetery, three miles west of this city.

      Death of Mrs. Ellen Hoar
      Mrs. Ellen Hoar died at her home east of this city Friday morning, April 30, being aged about 80 years. She leaves to mourn her loss four children. They are Miss Kate Connors John Connors, Mrs. George Colson of this city and P. F. Hoar who resides on the home place. The funeral services were held from St. Mary's Church Monday morning at ten o'clock, the Very Rev. J. P. O'Mahoney C.S.V., president of St. Viateur's College at Kankakee, and cousin of Mrs. Hoar, officiating. Internment was made in the Catholic cemetery west of this city.
