[Prescott Memorial: p.42 - Jonathan Prescott, son of founder John Prescott & his wife, Mary Platts, Lancaster, Mass. John Prescott was first of Watertown, 1640. It is probable that Jonathan Prescott was born at Watertown about 1643. He settled at Lancaster where he m. (1) Dorothy (Torrey p. 602 had Dorothy Waters or Hoald) on Aug. 3, 1670; she died & he removed to Concord De 23, 1675 & m. (2) Elizabeth Hoar, dau of John Hoar, Esq., a lawyer of Concord, Mass. on Dec 23, 1675. She d. Sept 25, 1687 and he m. (3) Rebecca Wheeler dau of Lieut Joseph Wheeler and the widow of the Hon. Peter Bulkley, Jr. Jonathan Prescott m. (4) Ruth Brown who d. Feb 9, 1740. Jonathan Prescott & his wife, Elizabeth Hoar (p.46 Prescott Memorial) had: 1. Dr. Jonathan Prescott b. April 5, 1677; m. July 9, 1701, Rebecca only dau. of the Hon. Peter Bulkeley, Esq. He settled at Concord as a physician. He d. Oct 28, 1729 aged 52 yrs. 2. Elizabeth Prescott b. Sept 27, 1678; m. John Fowle of Woburn July 1, 1696. 3. Dorothy Prescott b. Mar 31, 1681; m. July 14, 1702, Edward the son of Gershom Bulkeley, the son of Rev. Peter Bulkeley and lived & died at Weathersfield, Conn. in 1748. 4. John Prescott b. May 13, 1683; d. Jan 28, 1706 in his 23rd year. 5. Mary Prescott b. Aug 14, 1685; m. April 16, 1702, John Miles, son of the 1st John Miles of Concord and b. May 20, 1680. 6. Rev. Benjamin Prescott b. Sept 16, 1687; grad. Harvard Coll., 1709 was ordained over the church, 2nd Precinct, Salem, Mass.; subsequently at Danvers & South Danvers, later Peabody, Sept 23, 1713 where he officiated 45 years. He m. (1) Elizabeth Higginson, dau of John Higginson Esq., of Salem, Oct 20, 1715. She b. June 28, 1696 and d. Mar 20, 1723. He m. (2) Mercy, dau. of Rev. Henry Gibbs of Watertown, July 15, 1732; she d. dec 18, 1744 and he m. (3) Mary, sister of the first Sir William Pepperell, Oct 6, 1748 as her 3d husband. Her first husband ws the Hon. John Frost of New Castle, N.H. & her 2nd was Rev. Benjamin Colman, D.D. of Boston. She b. Sept 4, 1686 & d. April 18, 1766. The Rev. Benjamin Prescott d. May 27, 1777 aged 90 yrs.
