John Stephen Hoar, 46, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, in Canon City. He was born Feb. 27, 1958, in Hill City to Edwin A. and Vesta Jean (Jones) Hoar. He attended special education classes in the Hill City Schools and had been a client at Kobler Center. Survivors include his parents, of the home; two brothers, Mike Hoar, Dodge City, and Jim Hoar, Canon City; and three sisters, Reta Martinez, Howard, Colo., Pat Pierce, Flossmore, Ill., and Kathy Pool, Garden City. Services were March 31 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Canon City; burial in Lakeside Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home, Canon City, was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hoar attended special education classes in the Hill City schools and then was a client at Kobler Center Workshop. He moved to Ca?non City with his parents in December of 1989. While he lived in Ca?non City, he participated in many services and activities through Developmental Opportunities and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He is survived by his parents; three sisters, Reta Martinez, Howard, Pat Pierce, and Kathy Pool; two brothers, Mike Hoar, and Jim Hoar; four nephews; four nieces; two grand-nieces; one grand-nephew and many friends and caregivers. Mr. Hoar was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene Jones, Marjorie Shelton Jones Stephens, Frank Hoar, and May Ann Cron Hoar and step grandfather, Harold Stephens.
