Archdeacon of Surrey. He published numerous sermons, lectures etc. and a poem +
'The Shipwreck of St Paul' alluded to in Byron's 'English Bards and Scotch +
Reviewers'. He was a great supporter of religious societies and held a yearly +
missionary gathering at Godstone. Hannah More, Wilberforce, Venn and Macauley +
