Obituary: Martin L. COVER, 1997, Boswell, Somerset County, PA
Martin L. Cover, 80, of Morris Avenue, Boswell, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 15, 1997, at Somerset Hospital. Born Dec. 14, 1916, in Jenner Township, son of Jesse and Mae (Hawke) Cover. Preceded in death by parents; and brothers, Walter and Robert. Survived by wife, the former Violet F. Thomas; daughter, Judith, wife of Bernard Hoar, Boswell; granddaughter, Renae Salcedo, Mesquite, Texas; grandson, Scott Hoar, Raleigh, N.C.; and great-grandsons, Josh and Ryan Houpt. Brother of Naomi Blough, Hollsopple; Jesse of Georgia, Ellen Hunnicutt of Florida and James of Virginia. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Former minister and longtime member of the Church of God. Retired miner with 20 years service. Also retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Forestry, having been employed at the Lynn Run State Park for approximately 15 years. Would have observed 58th wedding anniversary Dec. 23, 1997. Friends received from noon until 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, the Rev. Gregory Stauffer officiating. Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery near Jerome.
