John Rootes and Mary Mitchell were married February 3, 1803 in Northiam, East Sussex, England. Northiam is also were Mary's father lived before he came to the USA in 1805. Now if you go to: www.familysearch.org, John Rootes, christened 15 March 1777 Northiam, Sussex was the son of Sivyer Rootes and Anne and this goes back with the Rootes family to about 1600.
