      "WALDEN [New York]-- Eleanor H. Hamel of Wait Street, Walden, formerly of Washingtonville and Craigville, a retired postal worker with the Washingtonville Post Office, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 17, in The Cornwall Hospital, Cornwall. She was 74. The daughter of the late William and Adeline Brueckner Horr, she was born Nov. 7, 1909 in Brooklyn. The widow of Henry O. Hamel, she was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Washingtonville. Survivors include a daughter, Leila Ronk of Walden; a son, David William Hames of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother, Arthur Horr of Fairfax, Vt.; two sisters, Ruth Downing of Craigville and Evelyn Price of Chester, seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hamel's body was donated to Albany Medical College, Albany. Memorial contributions may be made to the Washingtonville Ambulance Corps."
