      Charles D. Orr, age 84, of Shelby, passed away Monday, April 9, 2007 at Hackley Lakeshore Hospital in Shelby.

      He was born September 28, 1922 in Pellston, Michigan the son of William and Hattie (Gere) Hoar.

      He lived in Whitehall for fifty years. Mr. Orr was employed at Whitehall Leather Company for twenty-two years before his retirement.

      He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude. He married Beverly Niles on April 28, 2001. He moved to Shelby at that time and became a member of Shelby Wesleyan Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Schaub for his loving care given during Charlie?a??Ls illness.

      Mr. Orr is survived by his wife, Beverly and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edwin Hoar and Lester Orr and sister, Eva Drier.

      A memorial service will be held Friday, April 13, 2007, 11 a.m. at Shelby Wesleyan Church with Pastor Rob Henderson officiating.

      To find the church from the US31 expressway, take the Shelby exit and go east on Shelby Road 1 mile to the stop sign. Turn left onto State Street-Oceana Drive and go about 300 feet. The church is on the right side of the street at the corner of State Street and Ferry Street.

      Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shelby.
