      Kate E. Hoar: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice

      Deceased Name: Kate E. Hoar
      of Shell Lake, died on Sunday, July 13, 2003, at Terraceview Living Center in Shell Lake.
      She was born on Feb. 16, 1910, in Montreal, Canada, to Dr. Frank and Beatrice (Chaddock) Risher. She spent her early life in Pittsburgh, Pa., and Shell Lake. She was a 1927 graduate of Shell Lake High School and a 1931 graduate of Milwaukee Downer College.
      On Aug. 16, 1931, she married John Hoar in Shell Lake. They resided in Barron until 1965 when they moved to Shell Lake. Kate had been a resident of Terraceview since 2001.
      Survivors include one daughter, Jane (Brian) Leonard of Akron, Ohio; one son, John (Helen) Hoar of Ashland; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
      Kate was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James; and her husband, in 1974.
      The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at Pockat Funeral Home in Shell Lake. Fr. Alan Coudriet will officiate. Burial will be in Shell Lake Cemetery.
      Visitation will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
      Pall bearers will be Jim, John, and Joe Leonard and Wayne Pearson.
      The family prefers memorials to the Shell Lake Library.
