Funeral Wed. for G. Sparks. Funeral services for George H. Sparks will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Nordman Funeral Home. He wil be buried at the Carp Lake Cemetery, where his wife is buried. She died on Nov. 27, 1955. Mourning her death, Mr. Sparks shot himself yesterday in a car while parked alongside her grave at the cemetery. He was born at Raymond, Ohio, on Aprill 22, 1883. Survivors are one son John of Livonia, one brother William of Lancaster, Ohio, and three grandchildren. Death of Mr. Sparks came as a shock to his many friends in Levering and vicinity. He had appeared to be in good health and in good spirits, friends said, and some remarked that they did not realize he was taking his wife's death so seriously. She died as a result of an auto accident which occurred on the Cheboygan - Levering road. He has been rooming at the Claude Shurtleff residence. He worked occasionally to help out at the Standard Service Station on US-31 located at the intersection of the highway and the Cheboygan-Levering Road. He at one time owned and operated that station, and many people still call it "George's station" after him. He was a pioneer in the gasoline business in the Levering area. Mr. Sparks had a bulk station and used to deliver gasoline in winter with a horse and sleigh. He was well-liked and he and his wife had a great many friends.
