      Cape Cod Times (Hyannis, MA) - December 15, 1999
      Deceased Name: WEST YARMOUTH - Sharon L. Thompson
      45, a resident of West Yarmouth, died unexpectedly Monday at her home.
      She was the wife of Jeffrey Thompson for 22 years.
      Born in Winstead, Conn., she was a 1972 graduate of South Hadley High School and also graduated from Westfield State College in 1976 with a degree in elementary education.
      A certified elementary teacher, Mrs. Thompson worked at Cape Cod Hospital for several years as a unit clerk in coronary care before becoming disabled.
      Mrs. Thompson volunteered at the Laurence C. MacArthur Elementary School, formerly known as the South Yarmouth Elementary School, and helped establish and run the Before School Day Care program and Kinder Care program with the late school principal, Laurence C. Mac- Arthur.
      Despite her medical problems, she attended and graduated from the Yarmouth Police Department's Civilian Police Academy in 1996, an accomplishment of which she was very proud.
      She also enjoyed crafts and loved camping with her family and black Labrador retrievers, Brandy and Koko.
      Besides her husband, she is survived by her parents, Gerald W. Hoar and Emmelinn "Lynn" Hoar of Windham, Maine; two daughters, Jennifer L. Thompson and Kirsten M. Thompson of West Yarmouth; two brothers, James E. Hoar of Windham, Maine, and John L. Hoar of Easthampton; an adopted brother, Gary Sible of St. Joe, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.
      Visiting hours are 3 to 4 p.m. Friday in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, with a prayer service at 4 p.m.
