Roxana was not listed in Reed as one of Edward's children.

When the U. S. 1830 census of Fall River, Bristol County, MA, Edward's family was 1 male 16-26, 2 females under 10, and 1 female 16-26. One person was engaged in manufacture (blacksmithing).
On April 25, 1832, the Plymouth County Probate Court judged Edward Durfee, of Middleboro, Plymouth County, MA, to be insane. His next of kin was his son Edward. He owned a blacksmith shop in Middleboro, Plymouth County, MA, and Job Hoar was named as guardian. Plymouth County Probate Record 6909. He apparently recovered or at least improved for a time as he was listed with his family in 1840 and 1850.
When the U. S. 1840 census of Fall River, Bristol County, MA, was taken Edward B. Durfee's family was 1 male under 5, 1 male 10-15, 1 male 40-50, 2 females 5-10, 1 female 15-20, 1 female 20-30, and 1 female 40-50. Living very near was Israel C. Durfee.
When the U. S. 1850 census of Tiverton, Newport County, RI, was taken Edward's family was Edward 54, blacksmith, born RI, Sarah 50, born MA, Roxana 21 born RI, Nancy 19, born RI, Mary 8, born RI, Edward 23, blacksmith, born RI, and William 13, born Rhode Island Edward, Junior was also listed in the family of his sister Phebe (Durfee) Spooner in Middleboro, Plymouth County, MA, on the 1850 census.
On July 1, 1854, Edward B. Durfee, of Rochester, Plymouth County, MA, was judged incompetent by the Plymouth Court and Nathan H. Barstow was appointed guardian.
When the U. S. 1860 census of Providence, Providence County, RI, was taken Edward B. Durfee 52 (should be 62), occupation unknown, born RI, was an inmate at the Butler Asylum for the insane.
Edward B. Durfee died " on or about January 15, 1864, he had a wife Sally, deceased at the time of his death and her son Edward, of Mattapoisett, MA, being next of kin, others unknown ". Plymouth Court Case 6908.

Their marriage was recorded in the Middleboro, Plymouth County, MA, Vital records Book 8, page 157. Sally was a resident of Middleboro, Plymouth County, MA, at the time of their marriage. They were married by Ebenezer Briggs.
When the U. S. 1820 census of Middleboro, Plymouth County, MA, Edward's family was 1 male 16-26, 2 females under 10, and 1 female 16-26. One person was engaged in manufacture.
The births of their first four children were recorded in the published Massachusetts Vital Records, Rochester, Plymouth County, MA, but there is no record that they ever lived in Rochester, except for the 1854 Plymouth Court (Case 6907) record when he was " of Rochester ". On the censuses they were listed in Middleboro, Plymouth County, MA, and Fall River, Bristol County, MA, and in Tiverton, Newport County, RI, but never in Rochester.
