    Deceased Name: WAUKESHA DAVID JOSEPH HOWARD OCT. 21, 1932 - JULY 31, 2008
    PIC - David Joseph Howard, a lifelong resident of Waukesha, was born to eternal life Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 75.
    David was born Oct. 21, 1932, the son of George and Elizabeth (nee Howard) Horr. He served two years in the National Guard, was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, the St. Vincent de Paul Society and a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus.
    David met his loving wife, Helen, while he was driving bus. She soon became his favorite passenger. David worked at Waukesha Cutting Tools/Walter for 40 years, starting as a machine operator and working his was up to plant superintendent. His passions were hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards, soap box derby building and gardening.
    David is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Helen; children, George, Faith (Jerry Sutkiewicz), Joe (Gail), John (Kelly), Margaret (Bjorn Bothum) and Mark (Lisa); 15 grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth; brothers, Lawrence (Nancy) and Dennis (Rita); as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    David was preceded in death by his parents and other relatives.
    Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial Mass on Monday, Aug. 4, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 Highway 59, Waukesha, with the Rev. James Loehr officiating.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 Highway 59, Waukesha, WI 53188, for St. Vincent de Paul; or Food for the Poor, 6401 Lyons Road, Dept. 9662, Coconut Creek, FL 33073, www.foodforthepoor.org.

    Newspaper date: March 17, 1927
    Judge David W. Agnew granted Leona Horr, 28, a divorce from her husband George, 35. Monday in county court, upon the grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment. The three children affected by the divorce were given to the custody of the plaintiff. The court allowed $40 a month to the mother for the support of the children. The couple was married in this city June 23, 1917. They were separated in February, 1926. Mr Horr is a brakeman. Lillian Durant was sworn and testified as to the cruelty of the plaintiffs husband who did not contest the action.

    Henry Horr, a veteran of the Civil War and for many years a resident of Waukesha, died at his home on St. Paul Avenue Sunday [April 12, 1914]. He was 74 years old. He leaves a wife and four children. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the residence, the Rev. W. Diehm officiating; interment at Prairie Home Cemetery. Mr. Horr's army service was as a member of the 94th New York regiment. He served four years.

    In Waukesha, Henry Horr, an old railway veteran passed from this life on Sunday at the age of 74 years. He was one of the oldest officials of the Milwaukee Road. He was a Civil War veteran and took part in campaigns with New York's 94th Infantry Regiment. Besides his wife, he is mourned by 3 children: Frank Horr, in Sioux, Falls, SD; George and Josephine Horr, at home. The burial will take place on Wednesday afternoon from the family home, with Rev. W. Diehm officiating, and from there to Prairie Home Cemetery.

    George Franklin Howard, 80, who was born in the house that now stands at 344 W. College Ave., and lived there all his life, died in the same house early Thursday following a short illness. A monument engraver by trade, Mr. Howard had worked for various companies in the Waukesha for many years before he opened his own business. Failing health forced him to retire about 10 years ago, so he closed the business, but continued to live in his birth place. He was a charter member of the Waukesha Eagles Club. Mr. Howard leaves five daughters, Mrs. Morris Reeves, Pewaukee; Mrs. William Haig, Chicago, and Mrs. Andrew Cleveland, Mrs. George Horr, and Mrs. Claude Zahnzinger, all of Waukesha; and five sons Robert, Frank, James of Waukesha; Joseph, [of] Madison; and Richard, [of] Chicago. Funeral services were held Saturday from the Weber Funeral Home to St. Joseph's Catholic church at 8 am, with burial in the church cemetery.
